The trip had been long and arduous, but beautiful and full of fun. As they came over the crests they could finally see her, and she and her babies turned their massive heads to peer through the mist with interest.

Fifth in the series of Beanstiary, a project of fantasy worlds populated with Ty Beanie Babies™️. This series is also intended as a way for me to experiment with more dramatic colors and compositions; for this one, it was playing with scale and atmospheric perspective. The original piece was made by rendering a full-value under-drawing in pencil and layering on thin washes of acrylic paints.
