a buddy of mine is an entomologist who occasionally captures particularly charming insects in particularly funny poses. i think a weevil is just such a sweet sad puppy of a bug, a real muppet of an animal, and i love any opportunity to draw them. in this case, the photo immediately reminded me of a somewhat pathetically earnest street performer in an old timey city.
